Yev’s Big Idea:
Design and test custom frisbees made from unconventional materials like cement by exploring how material properties, density, and motion affect performance. Students manipulate mass and density to optimize their frisbee’s performance, test it using G-force sensors and distance measurements, and apply Newton’s Laws of Motion to analyze and improve their designs.
Interesting Facts:
Yev has been a science teacher since before iPhones were invented!
In his own words: "STEM matters to me because it opens doors. It gives students the tools they need to ask questions, solve real-world problems, and become creators – not just consumers – of technology and ideas."
