Srividhya “Sri” Sundaram

Using data collection to understand, propose and build solutions to reduce carbon dioxide

2021 STEM Scholar
Livingston, NJ Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy

Sri’s Big Idea:

Sri’s students collected data measuring carbon dioxide levels in areas around their school. They then presented that data in an awareness campaign for the community and proposed ways to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. As part of their assignment, Sri’s students also learned to build renewable resource energy power stations.

Interesting Facts:

Sri loves teaching because it nourishes the child within her. Along with teaching science and chairing the school’s Science Department, she also enjoys nature in her hometown.

In her own words: “The best part of my classroom is hands-on-learning which in turn promotes the joy of learning and the thirst to ask thoughtful questions.”
