Michael’s Big Idea:
The VR High Altitude Balloon Launch Challenge Project sends a series of student-designed and built instrumented high-altitude balloons into the stratosphere. Students analyze the data collected from each flight to improve the altitude, power utilization, and landing predictions for successive flights. The final launch features a virtual reality feed that live streams the entire flight across Tennessee, from launch to landing and payload recovery.
Interesting Facts:
Michael is a self-described cat person and enjoys spending time with his cat, Taz. He’s also photographed a Space Shuttle Launch!
