Katy’s Big Idea:
Sudent’s will engage in the fields of chemical, civil, software, and environmental engineering through hands-on STEM challenges combining research, experimentation, and problem-solving challenges. Students will gain insight into various branches of engineering and develop essential skills in critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation as they strive to:
- Create the fizziest bath bomb
- Construct a model of a bridge that will allow them to transport large construction materials across a pond into our school
- Learn coding, and;
- Test a variety of hydrogels to determine which is the most effective at conserving water for local farmers.
Students will also use their coding skills to program micro:bits to obtain water conservation data.
