Chris Stark

Solving ecological problems with engineering design solutions

2021 STEM Scholar
Rutland, MA Central Tree Middle School

Chris’s Big Idea:
Students used 3D rendering and printing programs to solve problems through “the lens of an engineer.” Students created various engineering-based curriculum projects, including conducting a fish population survey at a local pond.

Fun Facts:
Chris enjoys building, tinkering, and learning new skills. His family runs a small farm where he enjoys activities like woodturning, gardening and mountain biking.

In his own words: “I want my students to see that what they learn in the classroom is farther reaching than the walls surrounding them.”
