Thank you to Shelli Brunswick for highlighting NSCF and our groundbreaking study of neurodegeneration on the International Space Station in her latest column in Global Trends Magazine. Since 2019, NSCF has conducted six investigations using human brain organoids to study Parkinson’s and Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. In space, cell interactions can be observed in ways not possible on Earth, providing unprecedented insight into the development of diseases with profound societal and economic impact.
