Tara’s Big Idea:
Students used telescopes similar to those used in the time of Galileo along with modern day telescopes to learn about space and the history of discoveries made by man. Students learned about the history of space discovery and the beautiful relationship between advancements in technology and the sciences and how progress in one fuels innovation in the other.
Fun Facts:
Tara is the sole middle school science teacher in a small, rural, one school district.
In her own words: “I am….slightly obsessed with this job!….I teach middle school science and love it. I have built our middle school curriculum around student inquiry and hands on learning.”
